Vanessa came across this eensy little ringneck snake in the garden this evening.
One of the nifty things about puttering in our kitchen garden is how much aliveness there is.
You can be enjoying your own company, and still be surrounded by countless quiet (or not so quiet) companions.
There are always little fluttering things, and garden spiders, and frogs — I especially like the frogs ~ there are ones with vivid orange eyes that look like dichroic glass!
These little guys (the ringneck snake) sometimes make an appearance, too. It’s a pleasant feeling, being part of a thriving garden ecosystem, an active participant in the cycles of life and growth.
I hope the little snakey dude likes it here, too.
